5 Free, Must-Have Applications for BlackBerrys

No matter what BlackBerry device I have, these 5 applications are always installed on them:

  1. Poynt: Poynt is a free local search application that integrates nicely with the BlackBerry. You can search for businesses, movies and even get directions. Download it by going to http://m.mypoynt.com/ota using the BlackBerry browser.
  2. Bitlify: Bitlify allows you to shorten long web addresses using the bit.ly service. This is great to sending long URLs via email or in BlackBerry Messenger. Download it by going to http://bit.ly/3sKsSj using the BlackBerry browser.
  3. BBFileScout: This awesome file browser provides functionality that RIM should incorporate in the operating system to begin with. With the ability to create new directories and ZIP files, this program continues to be a regular on my BlackBerry. Get it by browsing to http://bb.emacf1.com/ota/BBFileScout.jad.
  4. Viigo: Known as one of the best RSS readers for the BlackBerry, they have also added additional services like sports, weather and even restaurant services. Get it at http://getviigo.com/default
  5. BBWeather: Do I need to rock shorts or bring an umbrella? BBWeather can give a 3-day forcast, as well as hourly conditions of the weather per day. Definitely a must have. Pick it up at http://www.tateu.net/software/bb.php?f=BBWeather_alpha
